The Respiratory System is composed of interconnected components that permit us to breathe in and out. They include the mouth, nostrils, airways, lungs, blood vessels and the diaphragm which moves up and down to enable the lungs to expand and contract. When we breathe in, oxygen is removed from the air and other waste gases are exhaled. The Learning Board clearly shows and labels these components and when buttons are pressed (inhale, exhale, breathe) lights illuminate the functions of these parts to give a clear graphical representation of the process.
