The Solar System Learning Board shows the Sun at the centre and the 8 planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) including the Earth rotating around it. Mercury is closest to the Sun. Neptune is the farthest.
Children will be able to see the correct order they appear in, their relative size and colouring, their distance from the sun and where the Earth fits into the picture. Along the bottom of the board each planet’s name and image appears and a touch button illuminates it in the bigger solar system schematic. When the Earth button is touched the Earth illuminates (showing it rotating around the sun at the same time as the moon is rotating around the Earth). A first solar system learning tool which will spark the interest of many budding astronomers.
